Veteran Mom Calms Back-to-School Pressures
MomLife Today Founder Releases New Book, "Be the Mom," Candidly Discussing Parenting Traps & Advice
LITTLE ROCK, Ark., Aug. 21, 2012—For moms of school-aged children, the pressures of balancing work, homework, school, extracurricular activities and family time can be trying. Striving to re-establish a school-year routine and continue to nurture all aspects of family life is an unscripted journey.
Fortunately, mom of two, Tracey Eyster, has forged a trail and created a place where experienced moms can guide others. FamilyLife's MomLifeToday.com, founded by Eyster, offers a forum for open discussion with moms, in all life stages, eager to share what they've learned.
In addition to the online forum, this month Eyster is releasing a new resource for moms. Her new book, Be the Mom (Tyndale House, August 2012), describes seven "mom traps" and step-by-step advice to help moms avoid and escape these deceptions.
"Being a mom is hard - it's a daily assault on self. Rather than view momlife as too hard, I force myself to shift perspectives," said Eyster, who is scheduled to be a guest on FamilyLife Today broadcasts Aug. 23-24. Eyster hopes her radio appearance, the book and MomLife Today will encourage moms that "yes, it's hard, but it's worth it," and help moms enter the school year on stronger, more confident footing.
